Hello - we're the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society

Home of the historical Lincolnshire Show, our incredibly diverse venue is so much more than just a showground. For more than 125 years our business has been a pinnacle within the community, providing the perfect space and flexibility for a whole host of events.

Our Journey

Our 270 acres of multifunctional space is based just four miles north of Lincoln city centre, and we're proud to have gained a reputation for both organising and hosting outstanding events, plus our year round Education programme.

The Lincolnshire Showground is owned by the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society, a charitable organisation established back in 1869. Its objectives are to educate the county about food, farming and a sustainable environment.

Becoming a Lincolnshire Agricultural Society Member, you are helping us achieve our charitable objectives of championing the importance of food, farming and the countryside. We aim to educate, inspire and connect communities by celebrating Lincolnshire’s rich agricultural heritage and representing the county with pride through engaging events, outreach and collaborations.

Although there is no intelligence to indicate an increased risk at the show, the Police are continually monitoring the situation and we are taking their advice and guidance. We ask our visitors to help us out with the following specifics: Please be ready to show all your tickets, passes or badge when asked. Please ensure that if you have a vehicle pass, it is correctly displayed in your windscreen before approaching the carpark/showground entrance. Please report anything suspicious to, the police, a steward or Showground staff member. Please help us by complying swiftly with any requests from stewards or staff member.
    • Why is the Lincolnshire Show midweek?
The Lincolnshire Show is traditionally an agricultural show, and over its 139 year history, it's something that has remained really important to us. We understand that some people work midweek, and that children are at school and because of that, not everybody can attend. We work with schools across the county on the Schools' Challenge, educational trips and tours and welcome over 5,000 school children each year, and we encourage parents that would like to bring their children along to speak with their school as the Lincolnshire Show is widely thought of as an educational event. If we were to move the Show to weekend dates, it would be a very different type of event as we wouldn't have the same high level of agricultural and trade support. Unfortunately, many shows that have moved to weekends no longer take place, or with significantly reduced visitor numbers.
    • Can I hire electric mobility scooters and manual wheelchairs?
Event Mobility (Charitable Incorporated Organisation) will be providing electric mobility scooters and manual wheelchairs at this event for the use of mobility impaired, disabled and elderly visitors. Environmental Responsibility

Sustainable Transportation & Energy Efficiency
Reducing our carbon footprint starts with smart transportation and renewable energy. By encouraging car sharing and investing in electric vehicle (EV) charging points, we aim to make travel more sustainable. Our commitment to solar panels and biomass energy ensures we utilise cleaner, renewable sources to power our facilities, reducing reliance on fossil fuels.

Recycling & Waste Reduction
Recycling plays a vital role in conserving resources and reducing landfill waste. We actively promote waste reduction programs, ensuring materials like plastic, paper, and metal are repurposed. Our goal is to embed a circular economy approach, where everything possible is reused or recycled, minimising environmental impact and encouraging responsible consumption.

A Holistic Approach to Sustainability
Sustainability is about more than just energy and waste—it’s a mindset. From eco-friendly policies to supporting green initiatives, we integrate environmentally responsible practices into every aspect of our operations. Whether it’s reducing single-use plastics, promoting sustainable procurement, or educating visitors on greener choices, we’re committed to lasting environmental change.
