LAS Breakfast Week Returns to Give Every Child the Best Start to Their Day

The Lincolnshire Agricultural Society (LAS) is proud to be hosting its annual Breakfast Week next week (17th to 21st November 2025) at the Lincolnshire Showground.
A heartwarming initiative dedicated to giving every child the best possible start to their day and education about the importance of a healthy and balanced breakfast. The focus of this initiative is urban schools in areas of greatest need, where the Society feels it can make the biggest difference and greatest impact by exposing children to experiences that they may not ordinarily be exposed to.
Throughout the week, children will enjoy a hearty, locally sourced breakfast and take part in a range of hands-on activities and experiences. Designed to connect them with where their food comes from, explore the farming story and learn key life skills. For many of the young people attending, it’s a chance to discover something new and enjoy opportunities they might not otherwise have.
The sessions include a delicious line-up of fun and educational workshops:
Seeded Fruity Bacon Flapjacks with Ladies in Pigs, where children get hands-on in creating a nutritious breakfast treat.
Super Fruity Overnight Oats led by Lincolnshire County Council’s Food Education Team, exploring healthy, simple breakfast options packed with flavour and energy.
The Farming Story, supported by passionate volunteers from farming backgrounds and featuring Peacock & Binnington’s branded tractor and combine from Lockwood Estates, offering children a chance to climb aboard and learn about the farming year, from seed to harvest and how grains become the breakfast foods we enjoy each day.
Omelette Making with Ruth Wilkinson, alongside Victoria Elwess from Egg Stop Heapham and Fairburn’s Eggs, who will share their knowledge of the egg production process throughout the week.
This year’s event has been made possible thanks to the generous support of local partners, including Lidl, who are donating breakfast produce; Fairburn Eggs, who are supplying fresh eggs; Lincolnshire County Council, who are leading on food education; and The Morley Agricultural Foundation, whose grant funding has helped bring the project to life.

The week is a true celebration of opportunity, community spirit, and the shared belief that every child deserves the chance to start their day with a full tummy.”
Organised by the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society, a registered charity dedicated to educating the public on food, farming and the countryside. Breakfast Week is part of a year-round programme of educational events hosted at the Showground.
