For one unforgettable week, the Lincolnshire Showground became home to nearly 8,000 Guides and Scouts from across the UK and around the world as the Poacher International Jamboree returns for its 12th event since 1977.

Hosted at the Lincolnshire Showground, the internationally renowned camp has welcomed 7,500 young people representing 20 countries, creating what has effectively become the 12th largest settlement in Lincolnshire for the week.

A World Adventure of a Lifetime

With the theme"A World Adventure of a Lifetime", Poacher 2026 offered participants the chance to take part in more than 100 activities designed to inspire fun, adventure and challenge. From archery, kayaking and ziplining to water zorbing, drift biking and glass engraving, there is an activity to suit every interest.

The event brings together young people from across the globe, who live together in four international sub-camps themed around Africa, the Americas, Asia and Europe. Throughout the week, participants have opportunities to build friendships, develop new skills and experience different cultures in a truly unique environment.

Showcasing the Best of Lincolnshire

While much of the action took place on the Showground, visitors to Poacher alsoexperience some of Lincolnshire's most iconic attractions through organised excursions. Trips to Lincoln Cathedral, Lincoln Castle and Lincolnshire Wildlife Park helped showcase the county's heritage, culture and visitor attractions to an international audience.

Back on site, the adventure continued long into the evening, with live music, outdoor cinema screenings and discos helping create a vibrant festival atmosphere for everyone taking part.

Powered by Thousands of Volunteers

Behind the scenes, the scale of the event is remarkable. Poacher International Jamboree is a £1.7 million operation delivered by more than 3,000 volunteers, all of whom have spent over three and a half years planning and preparing for the event.

Andrew Selby, Jamboree Lead, said:

"It is fantastic to see thousands of Guides and Scouts from around the world in Lincoln for Poacher 2026. They had the opportunity to immerse themselves in adventurous activities, make lifelong friends and experience the best of Lincoln. None of this would be possible without the commitment of three thousand volunteers and leaders, whose hard work has made this adventure a reality."

A Celebration of Community at Lincolnshire Showground

As one of the largest events ever hosted at the venue, Poacher International Jamboree highlights the Lincolnshire Showground's ability to welcome major national and international events. The gathering not only brings together thousands of young people for a week of adventure and personal development, but also demonstrates the vital role the Showground plays in supporting communities, education and international collaboration.

The Poacher International Jamboree ran until 8th August, leaving participants with lifelong memories, new friendships and experiences that truly live up to its promise of being a world adventure of a lifetime.

Technology has definitely changed hermes casino the way people in the UK organise their everyday lives. Online services make many routine tasks faster, while smartphones and smart home devices add extra convenience. I like the fact that so many things can now be managed from one place without making the process complicated.

Organizing large outdoor youth gatherings always brings back great memories of my time coordinating community events! A few years ago, when our local youth club organized a multi-day camping jamboree, managing logistics, attendee registrations, and schedule updates across multiple group leaders was quite a challenge. To keep parents and volunteers updated in real time, our team set up several dedicated social channels for different regional groups. Managing multiple administrative accounts simultaneously required strict profile safety, and finding a worth a read guide on preventing account flags helped us keep our communication hubs running smoothly without service interruptions. Supporting youth adventures with reliable communication is so rewarding!
