Members Enjoy Exclusive Visit to Arden Farms

"This has been the highlight of my whole Membership with the LAS."
High praise indeed, but that was the verdict from one attendee following our recent Members' visit to Ardens Farms, home of The Venison Company.
Around 30 Lincolnshire Agricultural Society (LAS) Members enjoyed a fascinating behind-the-scenes tour hosted by Paul and Sarah Arden, alongside Deer Manager Martin. Blessed with beautiful sunshine, the group had the opportunity to learn more about the deer farming enterprise and gain a unique insight into the journey from field to fork.
The visit began out in the fields, where Members were able to see the deer and learn more about their management and welfare. The tour then moved on to the farm's handling systems and processing facilities, providing a detailed look at the care, expertise and attention that goes into producing high-quality venison.
One of the key aims of the Society's Members' events programme is to offer exclusive access to agricultural businesses and experiences that are not usually available to the public. The visit to Ardens Farm certainly delivered on that promise, with plenty of opportunities for Members to ask questions, share experiences and learn directly from those working within the industry.
As well as gaining a greater understanding of modern deer farming, the morning provided the chance to connect with fellow Members who share a passion for agriculture, food production and the Lincolnshire countryside.
