Childless toymaker Geppetto lovingly carves a wooden puppet, unaware of the whirlwind of chaos he is about to set loose. Pinocchio, longing for adventure, runs away in search of excitement – but instead finds dazzling temptations hiding unexpected dangers.

Returning home in hope of sympathy, he soon discovers that his troubles are far from over. Running away hasn’t worked; lying won’t help. To find the sense of belonging he so desperately craves, he must learn what it truly means to become a real boy.

Carlo Collodi’s beloved classic has been translated into more than 260 languages since its original publication in 1883. This summer, Illyria brings the magical coming‑of‑age tale to life in a thrilling outdoor musical production at the Lincolnshire Showground.
