As the chosen Charity of the Year for the Lincolnshire Agricultual Society 140th Lincolnshire Show, Linkage was delighted to bring something a little different to this year’s event, championing accessibility, inclusion and hands-on experiences that support people of all ages and abilities.
For over 45 years, Linkage has supported people with learning disabilities across Lincolnshire and beyond through specialist education, adult care, supported employment and day-service opportunities. Whether it’s providing vocational training in areas like small animal care, delivering community-based outreach programmes, or running accessible housing services, our focus is always on helping people live the lives they choose.
Across the two-day show, our team welcomed visitors to our stand to learn more about Linkage’s mission and specialist services. While the show was busy with activities and attractions, we were thrilled that many families made time to visit our sensory tent, where children could enjoy a calm and engaging space filled with sensory play equipment. Seeing young visitors explore and interact with the space was a wonderful reminder of how important inclusive environments are: something we are deeply committed to providing across all of our services.

The event also gave us the opportunity to connect with new supporters. A number of visitors expressed interest in the work we do, especially in relation to care and education for their relatives with learning disabilities and or autism. We even received some generous donations from those keen to contribute to our mission, for which we are incredibly grateful.
Many of the people we support also attended the show and shared their highlights: “I loved the show, I loved picking up the freebies and being with my peers,” said Kayleigh, while Liam told us, “It was brilliant. I enjoyed seeing the old vehicles, and the steam engine was really cool.” It was fantastic to see how much they enjoyed the day and took in the atmosphere.
As an organisation with deep roots in Lincolnshire’s communities, we’re particularly excited about the development of our brand-new Small Animal Care unit at our Weelsby Campus in Grimsby. This purpose-built space will offer enhanced practical training for our students while strengthening the connection between animal welfare and hands-on education. With many Show visitors working in agriculture or passionate about animal care, we hope this new facility will resonate with those who understand the value of learning through doing.
If you’d like to support this project or any of our ongoing work across the county, you can find more information and make a donation at https://donate.justgiving.com/charity/linkage/donation-amount. Every contribution helps us build a more inclusive future.
We were honoured to be part of such a milestone year for the Lincolnshire Show and are grateful to the Showground team for recognising the value of inclusive charities like ours. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, chatted with our team, and helped make this year’s show a celebration of community in every sense.

I was really touched by the way the post described Linkage's support—it's clear that it stems from genuine concern, not just a formal gesture. I once participated in a similar charity project, where we were looking for the most effective promotion methods without unnecessary expenses. Then I came across full resource , which thoroughly explored low-cost advertising networks and their capabilities. This helped us channel more funds into the aid itself, rather than marketing, and the results were truly noticeable.
