Get cracking and cooking with Fairburn's Eggs at Countryside Lincs 12 Apr

The Alford-based family firm is back for a fifth year running and they’re planning a cracking day out for the whole family to celebrate the launch of their new British Blue eggs.

From stand FZ5 in the Food Zone (ground floor of the Epic Centre) they’ll be back with Lincolnshire chef Rachel Green hosting live cookery demonstrations between 10am and 4pm. Rachel will be whisking up tasty egg recipes the whole family can enjoy. With Easter just around the corner Rachel has also created some delicious Melting Crème Egg Chocolate Puddings which use Fairburn’s British Blue eggs. They’ve included the melt-in-the mouth recipe here and are encouraging children to get busy in the kitchen making the puddings themselves, then uploading photographs of their finished dish onto the Fairburn’s Facebook page.

Fairburn’s Sarah-Louise Fairburn said: “We’re thrilled to be back at Countryside Lincs which is a true celebration of animals, food, farming and our beautiful countryside. Our British Blue hen was developed, hatched and reared in the county, and we’re delighted to share our excitement about the success of our new British Blue eggs. The hens are fed a unique diet including brightly coloured flowers that give the eggs their pastel coloured shell and vibrant, golden yolk. Come and say hello and find out how we’ve created this unique egg variety that is brightening up breakfast!”.
