With the completion of the innovative and unique EPIC Centre in June 2008, the search for the ultimate in “green venues” is over. The meetings industry has been transformed with the arrival of the largest purpose-built sustainable events centre in the East Midlands, a powerhouse of new environmental technologies and a beacon for education and change.
Every aspect of how we live our lives and run our businesses affects the environment. The EPIC Centre helps to reduce the carbon dioxide omissions associated with our business and lifestyle choices. We invite you to bring your event into our low carbon world, and so minimise, monitor and offset the carbon footprint of your event activity.
And the results are significant; events hosted at the EPIC Centre offset their carbon footprint by up to 60%. Within weeks of being opened, the Centre was praised as one of the top 20 inspirational eco buildings in the UK by Property Week magazine. This was swiftly followed with an ‘excellent’ accolade in the BREEAM Buildings scheme, which assesses the environmental performance of buildings.
