Lincolnshire Food & Gift Fair Demonstration: The Cross Keys Grasby, Stephanie Dexter 03 Nov

Steph began her journey at the young age of 17 by working at The White Hart Hotel in Lincoln. Whilst also studying catering at college, she then went on to work at Doubletree by The Hilton where she continued her training.

After leaving The Hilton, Steph then after working hard at perfecting her craft in gastropub food. She was then given the opportunity to become the Head Chef job at the Horse and Groom, where she was able to pick up even more experience, which has helped her achieve such a successful business that she has now.

Recently The Cross Keys Grasby won Restaurant of The Year at The Taste of Excellence Awards hosted by Lincolnshire Life Magazine! They have also had recent success with winning the best pub/bar in Lincolnshire with the pub & bar awards.

Steph has also started doing various live demos at food shows, such as The Lincolnshire Show at the Showground on the outskirts of Lincoln and The Stalking Show in Staffordshire.

After experiencing the stalking show in Staffordshire, Steph found a new love for game and sustainability which she uses throughout all of her cooking to this day. She works alongside lots of local producers to ensure she only uses the best of what Lincolnshire has to offer! Of course, some recipes may have her using ingredients from around the world but what she can get local she does.

Over the next couple of years, Steph will also be looking at doing more private dining experiences for people at their own homes, which will allow people to have a more intimate dining experience with restaurant quality food and service.
