Lincolnshire Show 18 & 19 June 08
The 124th Lincolnshire Show offers a feast of Food and Farming for all. Featuring colourful and exciting attractions and entertainment, from traditional livestock classes to trade stand and amazing Main Ring events. At the Lincolnshire Show there really is something for everyone.
Halfway through the International Year of the Potato the Lincolnshire Show is the ideal situation to demonstrate the the County's involvement in growing potatoes within the UK. Learn about a year in the life of the potato by taking a look around the Grimme Potato Machinery Display in the Natwest Discovery Zone or pop in to the British Potato Councils' Potato Trailer and learn about the journey from field to fork.
The long standing tradition of the Grand Parade of prize winning livestock will be taking place in the Clydesdale Bank Main Ring on both days of the Show. The Grand Parade demonstrates the high standard of animals reared for showing and the hard work and dedication of the stock attendants.
World Premier Motorcycle Display Team - The Royal Signals White Helmets will be demonstrating their thrilling yet disciplined motorcycle riding display in the Clydesdale Bank Main Ring twice a day. 30 Volunteer soldiers make up the team of White Helmets, riding their British Millennium Triumphs 750cc Motorcycles they clearly exhibit the qualities of teamwork, courage, trust, strength and agility needed in the modern army.
Why not tickle your taste buds in the Foo-go Food Court by sampling some of the delightful local produce from one of our many exhibitors. Visit the demonstration theatre where you will find local chef Rachel Green demonstrating her talents in the kitchen, alongside Foo-go's Ellie Wade who will be sharing some of the trade secrets of running the successful Foo-go brand. Spare some time to have a chat with Neil Curtis and find out who the winner of the Bacon Carcase Competition is, you may be lucky enough to see a demonstration of how a carcase is jointed to produce the different cuts.
If you have green fingers then you will be right at home in the horticultual zone, you can see the delightful displays of plants and flowers available in the Flower Show or just admire the beautiful displays in the Floral Decoration Competition. Your questions can be answered by experts in the field during the Gardener's Question Time taking place in the Flower Show marquee. If it's a new spade to dig the garden you're looking for or maybe patio furniture to relax on or even a garden shed to hide out in you will find everything you need in the Horticultural Zone.
We regret to say that dogs are not permitted on the Showground during the Lincolnshire Show, exeptions are made for assistance dogs.
This year's Lincolnshire Show takes place at the Lincolnshire Showground just north of Lincoln on Wednesday 18th and Thursday 19th June 2008.
