How big is the Lincolnshire Showground?

The Lincolnshire Showground covers 205 acres and features open fields, woods, parkland, a lake and extensive indoor and outdoor facilities.

Where is it?

It’s at Grange-de-Lings on the A15 just north of Lincoln.

Who owns it?

The showground is the headquarters of the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society, a charity founded in 1869 to support agriculture in the county.

How long has it been there?

The Lincolnshire Agricultural Society moved to the present showground site in 1959.

How many people work at the showground?

The society has 13 employees, including 8 administrative staff, 5 ground staff and 154 volunteer stewards.

Is the Lincolnshire Show the only event that takes place there?

Not at all. The Lincolnshire Show is the highlight of the county calendar but we also play host to a wide range of different events throughout the year, from toy and antiques fairs and caravan rallies to equestrian events, festivals of worship and private functions.

So can anybody hire the showground?

Yes, our facilities are open to everyone. We can cater for events large and small, so whether it’s a ball for an 18th birthday party or a major business conference we can put together a package just for you.

Can I hire just one area of the showground or do I have to hire the whole lot?

You can specify which areas of the showground you want to hire. Perhaps you would like to stage an exhibition in our main hall, or maybe you’re looking for a venue for an equestrian event or a charity dinner dance. For more information visit our facilities page.

I need to provide food at my function. Can you help?

Of course. Just tell us what you would like and we will make sure that all your catering requirements are met to your satisfaction. If you’re not sure what you need we are happy to advise on what we can offer and make suggestions.

How far in advance do I need to book?

Most events are booked at least six months in advance, so you do need to plan ahead. However, we will always do our best to accommodate bookings if we possibly can, so even if you think you’ve missed the boat please feel free to call to check availability.

Can I come up and visit the showground before I book?

Of course. Just pick up the phone and arrange a mutually convenient time and we will be pleased to show you round.
